A fire outbreak at Radio Nigeria, Ikoyi Road, Lagos, has been successfully contained by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, in collaboration with other emergency responders.
The agency’s Director, Margaret Adeseye, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday night that firefighters from Dolphin and Ebute Elefun Fire Stations were deployed as first responders after the alert was received at 17:30 hours (5:30PM). The fire, which broke out in the studio section of the U-shaped one-storey building, was intense due to the material composition of the area.
Adeseye confirmed that the situation was brought under control through joint efforts with the Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Police, and other responders. She assured the public that the fire was confined to the studio section, with no casualties reported.
