Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced plans to return to the Government House, reversing an earlier stance amid ongoing political tension in the state.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on Thursday during a meeting with leaders of the Simplified Movement to mark his second year in office, Mr Fubara credited President Bola Tinubu for averting what he described as a looming breakdown of order.
The governor called on Rivers people and supporters across Nigeria to appreciate the president’s timely intervention, which he said helped stabilise the political environment.

He confirmed that the peace and reconciliation process between the Executive and Legislative arms is underway, expressing optimism that democratic governance will soon be fully restored.
Mr Fubara urged his supporters to embrace the peace process, insisting it was essential for unity, institutional recovery, and long-term development in Rivers State.
Both parties remain under public scrutiny as talks progress.
