Greta Thunberg Faces Deportation After Gaza Aid Flotilla Intercepted

Israeli authorities say climate activist Greta Thunberg will be deported after her aid flotilla was intercepted near the Gaza Strip. Officials confirmed all passengers were safe and being taken to Israel before deportation to Europe.

The convoy, known as the Global Sumud Flotilla, had sailed for over a month with nearly 500 activists aboard more than 40 vessels carrying humanitarian supplies. Israel said no ship would be permitted to breach its blockade of Gaza, describing the area as an active combat zone.

The interception has sparked sharp criticism, with Turkey denouncing Israel’s actions as an act of terror. Organisers reported one French-flagged boat may have briefly entered Palestinian waters, while another under a Polish flag remains in contact via satellite. Israel, however, maintains that no vessel entered its territorial waters. The operation comes as Gaza continues to face widespread hunger.
