Styl Plus former member and lead vocalist, Tunde Akinsanmi, says he did not leave the band out of greed.
At a 2018 news conference in Abuja, while saying he no longer wished to be known on stage as Tunde Styl Plus, but Tunde T Dot, he officially announced his exit from the band to pursue a solo career in music.
According to him, the decision to change his name was based on the need to reflect his new direction as a solo artist in entertainment.

Explaining his reason for leaving the award-winning Styl Plus, he says there were a lot of disagreements and he left because it was the best decision made by them as a group.
The boy band, Styl Plus, was the rave of the industry in the mid-2000s when their hit single ‘Olufunmi’ hit the airwaves.
