Following the demise of Junior Pope, veteran Nigerian actress Ini Edo has bemoaned the lack of regulatory structures in Nollywood.
Expressing her dissatisfaction, she says the late actor did not have to die for Nollywood to create the comprehensive and much needed regulatory structure required to safeguard a whole production.

Ini Edo insisted that the system has to be completely reorganised with practical standards that would cover everyone in an emergency, and emphasised that Junior Pope’s death had to signify something.
Following several attempts to save Junior Pope after a drowning incident, Nigerians were shocked to learn of his passing and went into mourning.
