Interior Ministry To Change Criteria For Promotion In Agencies It Supervises – Minister Says

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, says that personnel of the paramilitary services under the ministry will no longer be promoted just for passing promotion examinations soon.

The paramilitary services under the ministry are the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

He revealed this while speaking at the book presentation by the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi and Professor Tyoor Terhemba at the Corps headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

While harping on the need to invest in the education of personnel, Tunji-Ojo says that the best of people one will find in the FBI and  the best of the people one will find in the MI6 are alumni of some of the best Institutions in the world.

He added that he will personally ensure all agencies under the Ministry   have a functional library for research.
