A lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University has called for the resignation of Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, following the Board’s admission of technical failures during its recent examination exercise.
Mr Christian Okeke of the Political Science Department described the glitches as a national embarrassment, insisting that a mere apology from the Registrar is insufficient. He criticised JAMB’s decision to rewrite exams at selected centres, calling instead for the immediate release of what he termed the candidates’ “true results.”

Over 1.5 million candidates reportedly scored below 200 in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, a performance JAMB initially defended.
Mr Okeke argued that the Board must offer psychological support to affected students and hold officials accountable—beginning, he said, with Professor Oloyede’s departure from office.
