The father of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope has died, just one year after the actor passed away in a tragic boat accident. Ozor Luke Odonwodo, who was in his 80s, passed away recently, according to a tribute shared by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Awele, on Instagram.
Jennifer described her father-in-law as a devoted family man who lived a “good life” and reaped the fruits of his labour. She recounted her last visit with him in Enugu just weeks before his death and revealed the emotional moment her mother-in-law broke the news.

The bereaved widow paid tribute to both men, saying, “Adieu father and son. You are sorely missed, but we hold onto the resurrection promises in John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15.” She prayed for strength for the family as they endure another loss within a short period.
Junior Pope Odonwodo died on 10 April 2024 in a boat accident on the River Niger in Asaba, Delta State, while travelling to a film location. Four other crew members also lost their lives in the incident.
