Kano Governor Demands Justice for Slain Travellers in Edo

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has urged the Edo State Government to ensure those behind the killing of 16 travellers in Uromi are brought to justice.  

He made the call while receiving Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo, who led a delegation to Kano to offer condolences. Yusuf expressed deep sorrow, noting that most victims were from Kano.

He commended Okpebholo’s swift response, including his visit to the scene and efforts to ensure the victims received proper burials.  

Governor Okpebholo assured Kano residents that justice would be served, confirming that 14 suspects had been arrested and transferred to Abuja for further investigation.  

He also reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining harmony between the Hausa community and their hosts in Edo, stressing that the attack did not reflect the values of the state.
