The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, has suggested that Ukraine may have to temporarily give up some territory as part of a peace deal with Russia, though he insists Ukrainians will never accept Russian occupation.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk, Klitschko said it wouldn’t be fair, but might be a path to temporary peace.

His remarks came hours after a Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv killed 12 people and injured over 80.
Klitschko, who is a political rival of President Volodymyr Zelensky, also said the president had not shared any peace proposals with him.
He later clarified that his comments reflect global discussions, but warned that ceding territory runs against Ukraine’s national interest and must be firmly resisted.
