Lagos Opens Shelter For Survivors Of Domestic Violence

The Lagos State government, through its Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, (DSVA), has opened “Eko Haven,” a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. 

The initiative forms part of the state government’s commitment to ensuring support is provided for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

At the opening, the DSVA Executive Secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, disclosed that the shelter located in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos, is a 30-bed-space capacity set up to provide immediate shelter services to high-risk survivors of domestic violence.

The Executive Secretary described the shelter as the State government’s prompt response to ensuring the preservation of life, safety, stability, empowerment and reintegration of survivors back into society.

Mrs Vivour-Adeniyi assured victims and survivors of domestic violence that they are not alone and there is help accessible.
