The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, says the Renewed Hope City project in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, is 80 percent complete and will be ready for presidential inauguration soon. He made the disclosure during an inspection visit to the site on Thursday.
According to the Minister, more than 700 housing units under the first phase of the project are completed and awaiting commissioning, while the foundation for the second phase will be laid by President Bola Tinubu after the inauguration. The Renewed Hope City is expected to deliver 2,000 housing units when fully completed.

Dangiwa explained that the Lagos project is part of seven Renewed Hope Cities being developed across the country, including Abuja, to address Nigeria’s housing deficit. He said the initiative is designed to provide decent and affordable homes for Nigerians.
During his Lagos tour, the Minister also visited the Lekki Free Trade Zone and announced plans for six Building Materials Manufacturing Hubs across the geo-political zones. He said the hubs, including one in Lekki, will boost local production, cut costs, and promote sustainable housing delivery nationwide.
