Lagos State Government says it’s begun enforcement of 2026 parking permits

The Lagos State Parking Authority says it has begun enforcing the 2026 parking permit regulations across its operational zones following the expiry of an extended grace period.

General Manager Adebisi Adelabu said many parking operators have failed to obtain their 2026 permits despite repeated appeals, reminders, and demand notices detailing the required fees and procedures. She warned that defaulters would swiftly face substantial fines and immediate suspension of operations under the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law.

Adelabu said the enforcement is not meant to be punitive but to restore order, accountability, and efficiency to the state’s parking system. She urged operators yet to regularise their permits to do so immediately and appealed to the public to report unauthorised parking to the authority.
