Lagos to Host First Entertainment and Games Awards

Lagos State is set to host the maiden edition of the Lagos Entertainment Association Games and Awards, known as LEAGA, in September 2026. The annual event, endorsed by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission, will combine sports, entertainment and culture.

The organisers say the initiative is aimed at promoting friendship, wellness and collaboration within the entertainment industry through recreational and sporting activities. LEAGA’s lead convener, Muyiwa Osinaike, said the long-term goal is to expand the “sportainment” concept beyond Nigeria.

Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, said the initiative aligns with the state’s youth engagement and social development plans through sports and recreation. He added that the event would help create a new lifestyle blend of sports and entertainment in Lagos.
