Nigeria’s House of Representatives has ordered financial technology firm Remita to return ₦182.7 billion to the Federal Government. The funds are said to have been withheld from the Treasury Single Account, TSA, since 2015.
The directive was issued by the Public Accounts Committee during a hearing in Abuja on Wednesday, following the submission of an investigative report by an external consultant.

The committee had been tasked last year with probing revenue leakages and the non-remittance of funds by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) operating through the Remita platform.
Committee Chairman Bamidele Salam stated that the resolution was informed by documentary evidence submitted by the consulting firm, as well as materials provided by SystemSpecs—Remita’s parent company—and other stakeholders involved in the TSA framework.
