The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, says former Vice President Atiku Abubakar lost the 2023 election because he chose Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
In an interview monitored by RadioNow’s news desk, Moro described Okowa’s recent regret as “uncharitable,” insisting Okowa actively sought the position and should take responsibility for the outcome.

Moro said the PDP might have won with a different candidate and questioned Okowa’s inability to deliver Delta State during the presidential poll. He noted that the PDP is still intact and working to rebuild ahead of 2027.
Okowa, who recently defected to the APC, said the PDP is no longer a viable platform and affirmed his support for President Tinubu to complete a second term.
The PDP has responded by calling Okowa a betrayer and asking Delta’s current governor to vacate his seat.
