NDLEA Seizes Cocaine Hidden in Stockfish, Arrests Suspected Kingpin in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 5.8 kilograms of cocaine concealed in stockfish and arrested a suspected drug syndicate leader in Lagos. NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the seizure was made during an operation targeting narcotics trafficking networks operating in the country.

According to the agency, the illicit drugs were carefully hidden within the stockfish to evade detection. Operatives were said to have uncovered the consignment following intelligence gathering and surveillance. The agency described the method as part of evolving tactics used by traffickers to move illegal substances.

The suspected kingpin was arrested in Lagos as part of the operation, with NDLEA officials stating that investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the network. The agency said the arrest represents a significant step in efforts to dismantle organised drug trafficking groups.
