The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, says a warehouse that was looted by some people in Abuja on Sunday does not belong to it.
In a statement on Sunday, Mr. Manzo Ezekiel, spokesman for NEMA, confirmed that the looted warehouse is not linked with the agency, but sympathised with the owners of the facility.
The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Capital Territory’s Department of Agriculture, Mr. Zakari Aliyu, confirmed the looted warehouse belonged to their agency, but gave no further details.

On Sunday, some residents of Abuja raided a warehouse, looting foodstuffs and other items stored in the facility.
NEMA said it has taken measures to safeguard its facilities nationwide.
NEMA’s Director General, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, has directed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to strengthen security in the Agency’s offices and warehouses nationwide.
