The Federal Government has raised alarm over the growing threat of cyber-slavery, a modern form of human trafficking luring young Nigerians into forced cybercrime abroad.

Many, including minors, are trafficked and forced into what has been labelled as ‘419 cyber-scam factories,’ facing abusive and exploitative conditions.
The Ministry cited a recent rescue operation in Accra, Ghana, where the Economic and Organised Crimes Office freed a group of Nigerian nationals held captive and coerced into cyber-fraud activities.
Authorities are urging heightened vigilance among young people and their families, as syndicates across the region expand their reach through increasingly sophisticated recruitment tactics.
