The Nigerian film industry is in mourning following the death of Nollywood actor Solomon Akiyesi, who reportedly died in his sleep after a brief illness. The development was confirmed by the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Yakub Abubakar.
According to details provided by the family, the actor complained of chest pain on the night before his death and was taken to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with an ulcer and treated. He later returned home and went to bed, but did not wake up the following morning. His wife reportedly discovered he was unresponsive in the early hours of the day.
The Actors Guild described his passing as a significant loss to the industry and expressed condolences to his family. His remains have been deposited in a morgue in Abuja. Colleagues and fans have continued to pay tribute, remembering him as a vibrant performer who brought energy and dedication to his roles.

Akiyesi, a native of Ososo in Edo State, began his acting career in the late 1990s and featured in more than 100 films. He was known for appearances in productions such as Desperate Ladies, Pretty Liars, Bridge of Contract, Heart of a Saint, Marry Who You Love, Gen Z Wife and Accidentally Us, earning recognition as both an actor and producer.
