Nollywood Star Lalude Regrets Campaigning for President Tinubu, Says He Was Paid N10,000 Daily

Veteran Nollywood actor Lalude has revealed that he and fellow actors were paid just N10,000 daily for feeding while campaigning for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

In a now-viral interview, Lalude expressed deep regret over the hardship faced since Tinubu’s victory, saying he and others campaigned for over a month without proper compensation.

The actor’s comments come days after colleague Alapini made similar complaints, sparking renewed online debate about celebrity involvement in partisan politics.

Lalude said two years on, no promised rewards have materialised, despite their efforts.

A number of entertainers—among them Toyin Abraham, Saheed Balogun, and Eniola Badmus—backed the APC’s campaign, drawing public backlash amid worsening economic conditions and security challenges.

Many Nigerians have since criticised their support, with some fans unfollowing them on social media in protest.
