Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has visited Plateau State to sympathise with victims of the recent attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area. Obi travelled from Abuja to Jos on Sunday, where he held a meeting with Governor Caleb Mutfwang before proceeding to Bokkos to meet displaced residents, including children affected by the violence.
During the visit, Obi described the killings as senseless and unacceptable. He said no Nigerian should face death or displacement in times of peace and called for a country where citizens can live without fear, regardless of their location. Obi announced a personal donation of 7.5 million naira to support the education and welfare of displaced children. He also noted that his Obidient Movement had earlier provided a borehole for the internally displaced persons camp.
