Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has called for selfless leadership in Nigeria, saying the country cannot make meaningful progress until it finds leaders prepared to put national interest above personal gain.
Speaking in a TV interview, the 48-year-old actor said Nigeria’s challenges lie with leadership rather than the people, stressing the need for courage, conviction and integrity at the top.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Omotola warned against tribal politics, describing it as destructive. She also alleged voter suppression at her polling unit during the last election, claiming it was driven by ethnic bias.
