The Kaduna State Police Command has recovered unexploded military-grade ordnance and assorted ammunition from a scrap depot in the Kudandan area of Kaduna South Local Government Area. The discovery followed an intelligence report about suspicious materials at a scavengers’ company on the outskirts of the city.
Police spokesperson Mansir Hassan said the items were concealed among waste transported from Borno State. A team from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, led by its commander, confirmed the presence of explosive devices and safely evacuated them to a secure location for controlled demolition.

Additional items recovered during the operation included a locally made revolver loaded with six rounds, 15 rounds of 7.2mm live ammunition, three live cartridges, and other assorted ammunition.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, has ordered the immediate sealing of the premises for a full security sweep. He warned scavengers against receiving items from crisis zones and directed area commanders to arrest violators, urging residents to provide timely intelligence to help prevent security threats.
