Police Rescue 58 Kidnap Victims In Kogi Forest

The Nigeria Police has rescued 58 kidnap victims at Udulu Forest, Gegu LGA of Kogi State, bordering Sardauna Forest, Nasarawa State, and identified kidnappers den in communities bordering the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement on Sunday, spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Superintendent of Police Josephine Adeh said the kidnappers engaged a security team – led by the police – in a shootout, which resulted in the death of a kidnap victim.

She added that the bandits were overpowered and escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries, leaving behind their victims.

While pledging the commitment of the command at sustaining efforts to prevent threats to the safety and security of FCT residents, SP Adeh said the command will not relent in ensuring the rescue of any resident held hostage by criminals as well as bringing the perpetrators to book.
