Presidency Dismisses Opposition Coalition as ‘Sore Losers’

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has downplayed the opposition coalition forming ahead of the 2027 elections, describing its leaders as “sore losers.”

His remarks follow a press briefing in Abuja where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar announced that opposition figures were uniting to challenge President Bola Tinubu.

Among those present were representatives of Peter Obi, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Onanuga insisted that Tinubu remains focused on governance, dismissing the coalition as being driven by self-interest. He said the president was addressing critical national challenges and would not be distracted by political opposition.
