In protest of President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva’s inauguration last week, supporters of Brazil’s ex-president, Jair Bolsonaro, invaded the country’s National Congress Building yesterday.
Videos on social media show supporters pushing through police barricades and storming the nearby Planalto presidential palace and Brazil’s Supreme Court.
Security forces used tear gas in a failed effort to repel the demonstrators, but eventually regained control of the area.
