REA’s Managing Director, Abba Aliyu, said the MOUs represent concrete commitments rather than ceremonial gestures. He cited successful past collaborations, including the deployment of four smart police stations, the creation of a renewable energy testing hub with Huawei, and ₦100 billion in funding mobilised through First City Monument Bank.
Mr. Aliyu also announced MOUs with 13 state governments, which have already triggered the construction of 200 mini-grids. He emphasised REA’s shift toward long-term, commercially financed infrastructure delivery.
