As part of effort by the Federal Government to reduce the cost of energy following the removal of petrol subsidies, the Rural Electrification Agency, REA, has activated a 200 Kilowatt peak (KWp) mini-grid in Danchitagi Community, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The mini grid will supply power to over 700 homes and businesses.

He said with the system in place, beneficiaries will rely less on petrol powered generators particularly in light of fuel subsidy removal.
The MD stressed that the REA will continue its accelerated deployment of impactful energy access projects while maintaining standardized implementation.
