Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr says meeting American singer Rihanna in 2024 helped improve her confidence and self-image. She made the revelation in an interview with W Magazine.
The 23-year-old said she was struggling with low self-esteem at the time of the meeting in Barbados. She described Rihanna’s personality and encouragement as helping her rediscover herself.
Ayra Starr said her most memorable moment was watching her music videos with Rihanna, who pointed out her favourite parts. She described the experience as one of the most amazing moments of her life.

She added that Rihanna has long been her inspiration and role model, and noted that the billionaire singer also expressed openness to a future collaboration with her and Tems.
