Rivers Governor Says Masterminds of Botched Dynamite Explosion Wanted State of Emergency in Rivers

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says people calling for emergency rule in the state were behind the failed explosion near the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt.

The governor stated his position on the matter on Wednesday when he received a delegation of the senate committee on privatisation and commercialisation led by the chairman of the committee, Senator Orji Uzoh Kalu, at the government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The explosion is reported to have occurred near the Hotel Presidential on Tuesday during a protest march by some political leaders in support of the police operatives occupying the 23 Rivers LGA secretariats.
