Security Chiefs in Closed Door Meeting With Senate

During the plenary, the Senate went into a closed-door meeting with the service chiefs to address the worsening security situation in the country.

Recall that last Wednesday, their meeting with the Senate was postponed.

The security chiefs were led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hassan Abubakar, and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.

Also present at the Senate is the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.

Briefing the invitees, President of the Senate Akpabio says the invitation became necessary following several petitions by the lawmakers’ constituents.
