South Africa’s Amajita have advanced to the final of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt following a narrow 1–0 win over Nigeria’s Flying Eagles.
Despite enjoying long spells of possession and creating a flurry of chances, Nigeria’s seven-time champions failed to convert pressure into goals, crashing out of the title race.
Kparobo Arierhi spurned three clear-cut opportunities in a frustrating first half, while substitutes Mendos Rickson and Auwal Ibrahim also went close late on.

Nigeria now drop into Sunday’s third-place playoff, where they will face the loser of the second semi-final between hosts Egypt and Morocco.
