The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced a traffic diversion on the Marine Bridge to allow for essential maintenance works. According to a statement by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the diversion will run from Sunday, 18 May to Sunday, 8 June 2025.
The repairs will be carried out by the Federal Ministry of Works in two phases. Phase one will affect the foot of the bridge from Lawani Oguntayo Road inbound Apapa and Costain. Phase two will cover Ijora Badia and the Lilypond Access Ramp inbound Apapa.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the repair period. Those travelling from Ijora Olopa to Apapa are to use the Causeway access ramp by Omni Retail Company. From 2nd to 8th June, traffic from Ijora Olopa will also be redirected through Lilypond Access Road.
The bridge is expected to fully reopen on Monday, 9 June. Traffic officials from LASTMA will be on ground to manage vehicle flow throughout the period.
