Super Eagles Set for London Showdown in 2025 Unity Cup

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed the Super Eagles’ participation in the 2025 Unity Cup, a four-nation invitational set to be staged in London.

The tournament will see Nigeria renew their fierce rivalry with Ghana in what organisers have dubbed the ‘Jollof Derby,’ scheduled for Wednesday, 28 May. Their last encounter ended in a 4–1 loss for Nigeria, and the upcoming tie promises similar intensity.

The competition kicks off a day earlier with a first-ever UK meeting between Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica, labelled the Trini-Jam’, on Tuesday, 27 May.

Both semi-finals will build towards the final on Saturday, 31 May, where the winners will compete for the Unity Cup trophy. The losing sides will contest a third-place playoff.

The Unity Cup aims to celebrate footballing heritage and deepen ties between African and Caribbean communities in the diaspora, with London providing a fitting stage for the spectacle.
