Super Eagles to face Algeria in AFCON 2025 quarter-final

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Algeria in the quarter-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The fixture was confirmed after Algeria secured a dramatic 1-0 extra-time victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo in the second round.

Adil Boulbina scored a powerful late strike in extra time to send the Desert Foxes through, with the match heading for penalties before his intervention. Nigeria booked their place in the last eight with a convincing 4-0 win over Mozambique, emerging as the competition’s most prolific side with 12 goals, while Algeria boast the best defence, having conceded just once in four matches.
