The Flying Eagles secured a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-2 draw with Kenya in Ismailia.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side finished second in Group B with five points, two behind Morocco, who topped the group after defeating Tunisia 3-1.

The seven-time champions twice came from behind in a tense encounter, showing resilience against a spirited Kenyan side. Kevin Wangaya put Kenya ahead early from the spot before Kparobo Arierhi equalised moments later with a composed finish.
Kenya restored their lead midway through the second half via William’s strike, capitalising on a defensive lapse. But captain Daniel Bameyi held his nerve from the spot to level once more.
Nigeria now face the Group C runners-up—one of Senegal, Ghana, DR Congo or Central African Republic—in Monday’s quarter-final clash.
