Super Falcons Outclass Ghana in WAFCON Warm-Up

Nigeria’s Super Falcons signed off their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2025, WAFCON, preparations in style with a 3–1 win over West African rivals Ghana in a spirited friendly encounter.

Following a stalemate against Portugal, Randy Waldrum’s side were eager to make a statement—and did just that. Chinwendu Ihezuo opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Asisat Oshoala coolly converted from the spot just before the break, marking her first goal for Nigeria since October 2023.

Rasheedat Ajibade added a third shortly after half-time, capping an impressive personal run of form.

Ghana, who came into the match on the back of wins over Malawi and Benin, grabbed a late consolation through Alice Kusi from the penalty spot, but the contest had already been settled.

The Super Falcons now turn their attention to Tunisia, whom they face in their WAFCON opener on 6 July. Morale in the camp is high.
