At least ten countries have now secured their places at the 2026 World Cup, with Jordan and Uzbekistan among the latest to qualify. The two nations made history on Thursday by booking their spots in the tournament for the first time.
South Korea also cemented their position at the World Cup, marking their 11th consecutive appearance. Uzbekistan sealed qualification after holding the United Arab Emirates to a goalless draw in Abu Dhabi. The result saw them claim the second automatic qualification spot in Group A, just behind Iran.

These latest qualifiers join Japan, New Zealand, Iran and Argentina, alongside co-hosts USA, Canada and Mexico, who automatically qualified for the tournament. The 2026 World Cup promises to be a global celebration of football.
Meanwhile, in Asia, the UAE and Qatar will now enter the next stage of qualification. There, six teams will compete for two more coveted places in the World Cup, as the road to 2026 continues.
