Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade and Operation Whirl Stroke, in joint action with Operation Safe Haven, have neutralised two bandits and recovered around 1,000 stolen cattle in Taraba and neighbouring Plateau State.
The operation followed credible intelligence that armed bandits on about 30 motorcycles had crossed from Plateau into Taraba to raid a Fulani settlement near Jebjeb village in Karim Lamido Local Government Area. In a swift response, troops engaged the criminals in a firefight near the Daji Madam Forest across the river boundary.

A statement by the Army said the operation, codenamed Lafiya Jama’a, is part of efforts to curb criminality and ensure the safety of residents. The rustled cattle have been safely returned to Jebjeb, pending proper verification to reunite them with their rightful owners.
Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, praised the coordination between forces and pledged continued pressure on those threatening regional peace.
