Vice President Kashim Shettima has called for a deeper partnership between the European Union and African nations to accelerate development across the continent. Speaking in Abuja during a meeting with EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, Shettima described the EU as a long-standing and natural partner to Nigeria.
He acknowledged the EU’s investment in Nigeria’s ongoing reforms and urged that the relationship go beyond pledges to produce tangible outcomes. The Vice President emphasised the need for joint ventures and increased trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area, alongside greater investments in energy, education, and digital inclusion.
