Twenty-Three Players Sent Off After Brawl in Brazilian Match

Twenty-three players have been sent off after a mass brawl during the Campeonato Mineiro final between Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro in Belo Horizonte.

The incident occurred deep into stoppage time of Cruzeiro’s 1–0 victory on Sunday after Atlético Mineiro goalkeeper Everson clashed with Cruzeiro midfielder Christian while contesting a loose ball.

The confrontation escalated when players from both sides rushed in, leading to a fight that spread across the pitch and involved substitutes and coaching staff before security officials restored order.

Brazilian media report that the referee later issued a total of 23 red cards after reviewing the incident, dismissing 12 players from Cruzeiro and 11 from Atlético Mineiro. All the red cards were recorded at 90 minutes plus six.
