Nollywood actress and filmmaker Uche Montana has achieved a major digital milestone as her latest film, Monica 2, surpassed 10 million views on YouTube within just two days of its release. The sequel premiered on May 2, 2026, on her YouTube channel, Uche Montana TV, and gained rapid traction, reinforcing the growing dominance of digital distribution in the Nigerian film industry.
Within hours of its release, the film garnered around 1.2 million views in four hours, over 4 million within the first 12 hours, and crossed 6 million within 24 hours before hitting the 10 million mark by May 4.
Reacting to the achievement, Montana expressed gratitude to her audience, writing on her social media page, “10M in 2 days. No explanation, just God.” Monica 2 builds on the success of the original Monica film, which also recorded millions of views within weeks of its release earlier in 2026, quickly becoming one of the standout YouTube-driven Nollywood productions of the year.

The sequel continues the story of the character Monica, played by Montana, as she navigates complex family relationships and tensions with her mother, portrayed by Blessing Onwukwe, while adjusting to married life. The film also features actors Joseph Momodu and John Ekanem.
