UNICEF has signed a three-year work plan with the Katsina State Government aimed at improving the well-being of children across the state.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office in Kano, Rahama Mohammed-Farah, said the agreement focuses on health, nutrition, education, child protection, and water sanitation. A key priority is polio eradication, with UNICEF calling for greater community mobilisation to boost vaccination.

Governor Dikko Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment, disclosing that over 100 billion naira has been spent on education through teacher recruitment, school construction, and scholarships.
The partnership will also tackle out-of-school rates by promoting early education and school readiness, while supporting efforts to achieve open defecation-free status and improve child social protection.
