The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, was welcomed at the Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.
Secretary Blinken landed Abuja yesterday evening for a bilateral meeting with President Tinubu as part of his four-nation African tour.
After meeting with President Tinubu, he attended a joint press briefing with his Nigerian counterpart, Yusuf Tuggar, where he expressed the readiness of US companies to partner with, and invest in the Nigerian economy. Speaking on the situation in Palestine, Minister Tuggar said Nigeria and the United States both agree that the way forward lies in a two-state solution.

Secretary Blinken is expected to meet with the business community in Lagos today.
Apart from Nigeria, he will visit Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, and Angola as he seeks to reinforce the US commitment to stronger relations with democracies in the subregion amid global crises.
