Warri Wolves Coach Removed After Heavy Defeat In Lagos

The management of Warri Wolves FC has directed coach Jolomi Alli to step aside after the club suffered a 4-1 defeat to Inter Lagos FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena in Onikan.

The defeat was the heaviest suffered by the club in recent years.

The Seasiders had vowed to win the tie in Lagos to brighten their chances of securing a ticket to the elite Premier League at the end of this season.

The Chairman of Warri Wolves, Nevile Ambekederemo, says assistant coach Austin Johnney will take over pending the appointment of a new coach.

Before the trip to Lagos, the Seasiders were in the sixth position on the table..  Governor Sheriff Oborovwore had recently settled the club’s financial problem, and was looking forward to a good performance from the team.

The team, whose setback began just before the Christmas break, when they lost at home to visiting Giant Brilliars FC at Kwale Stadium, take on Gateway FC on January 28 at the Kwale Stadium, and on February 3, they will confront Trade Safe FC in Lagos.
