104 Nigerians Return from Algeria Under Voluntary Repatriation Scheme

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the return of 104 Nigerians from Algeria under the Assisted Voluntary Return programme, coordinated by the International Organisation for Migration in partnership with the Federal Government.

The returnees arrived on Sunday, 30 June 2025, at 13:50hrs aboard Air Algerie flight 70-BKT and were received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport cargo terminal in Lagos.

The group included 80 adult males, 14 adult females, two boys, five girls, and three infants.

NEMA said officials from the Nigerian Immigration Service conducted biometric registration and documentation.

The returnees also received food, water, medical care, and other logistical support.

Authorities say the operation is part of broader efforts to ensure a safe and dignified reintegration process for migrants choosing to return home voluntarily.
