10th House Of Reps To Revisit Bill Seeking To Create Extra Seats For Women In National Assembly

Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, says the lower legislative chamber will amend the constitution to “possibly” increase the number of women in parliament.

Speaker Abbas said this in Abuja yesterday at the international conference on women in governance organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).

The lawmaker described the process of political inclusion of women in Nigeria as lagging, noting that many countries around the world have made significant strides.
