The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed 22 commissioner-nominees sent by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for screening.
The Governor had sent 39 names to the legislative chamber, but the lawmakers rejected 17 names on the list.
Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the House, who presided over yesterday’s sitting, said the confirmation followed a rigorous and detailed screening of the nominees by an ad-hoc committee led by the Chief Whip of the House.

Last week, some Islamic clerics protested an alleged religious lopsidedness in the list of commissioner-nominees which had only eight Muslims.
Among the unconfirmed nominees are Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Mr. Yomi Oluyomi, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose, Ms. Barakat Bakare, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, and eleven others.
