A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has issued a restraining order against the Department of State Services (DSS), stopping the agency from arresting Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).Â
Last week, the DSS filed an application requesting to arrest the CBN Governor over allegations of terrorism.Â
At yesterday’s court session, M.A. Hassan, the presiding judge, issued the order saying the DSS did not substantiate or provide any material fact of terrorism.Â
The judge described the agency’s actions as continuous harassment, threat, and intimidation of the CBN Governor over what he further described as trumped-up allegations.Â
